escapism

^ sometimes it's easier to hide behind a mask and paint your own world as you see fit..

i'd stumbled upon an artist from etsy.com, who resides in oregon. she draws, paints, and scribbles the most whimsical and beautifully unusual portraits. her paintings are easy enough for your own imagination to take flight within seconds of staring at her work.

below are only a handful of some of my favorite works from her. when time allows, i must share more. anyway, enjoy her paintings. i can't stop admiring it. soon enough, my walls will be covered with her work!

my thoughts are below each painting, i'm sure you will have a different perspective. it's what makes art so beautiful: the difference in how one interprets the story behind the brush.

^ tribute to can't let go of our true dreams, despite how far out of reach they seem.

^ little girl of knowledge..

my interpretation: ^tribute to social isolation

my interpretation: ^ sometimes the little critter is the most trusted friend.

my interpretation: ^ tribute to retreating from unpleasant realities through diversion & fantasy lala land..
(in this case books & sailing via black swan??) haahaah

my interpretation: ^ my lines of communication are always open..

Forget Me Nought

E.B.Browning
b. March 6, 1806 in Durham, England d. June 29, 1861 in Florence, Italy

Elizabeth Barrett Browning
- Sonnet 14 -

If thou must love me, Let it be for nought

XIV

If thou must love me, let it be for nought

Except for love's sake only. Do not say

'I love her for her smile—her look—her way

Of speaking gently,—for a trick of thought

That falls in well with mine, and certes brought

A sense of pleasant ease on such a day'—

For these things in themselves, Beloved, may

Be changed, or change for thee,—and love, so wrought,

May be unwrought so. Neither love me for

Thine own dear pity's wiping my cheeks dry,—

A creature might forget to weep, who bore

Thy comfort long, and lose thy love thereby!

But love me for love's sake, that evermore

Thou mayst love on, through love's eternity.

:) Okay, thanks to and inspired by T, S, E, J, D, & S - I've created a new blog. It's a one direction only kind of blog: everything to do with fashion. Sorta. It'll contain all the things I love, desire and can or can't; should or shouldn't afford. ;)
