twenty-ten firsts.

first purchases, first reads, first what nots of twenty ten :)

first biography/book completed in 2010. excellent read.

first wallet purchased. burberry "large haymarket check purse" wallet in pvc & chocolate brown leather trim. lOve this functional wallet. lOVE. embossed made in italy. sighhhhh. (hey i just found out that their more popular designs and some of their latest collection pieces are made in china - wtF? research more i will.)

first movie mini-series watched: wives and daughters (thanks for introducing me to this chuck!)

first historical novel purchased.

first coffee table book. thick book with pages full of radio archives from start of his career back in early 1950's til his death in late 1970's.

first marilyn monroe book of yr. this book is SO cool. it's a series of questions and answers. answers marilyn monroe truly was documented on, but the questions are new and twisted by the authors. it's as if we're reading a long magazine spread with mm on it today, as we sip our coffee or tea ;)

first stuffed bear ordered: steiff classic teddy bear. why? when i'd stumbled upon this site (actual store is in UK), i contacted store, corresponded with their friendly staff manager - and felt safe about ordering this bear which looks like a bear i had from childhood. my old bear reincarnated! had to have it. i'd purchased from http://www.ashbybears.com/ , this website is safe, user friendly, and their CS is excellent!

first flexibound journal written in this year. my lil sis gave this to me for xmas. has graph paper n' all. every 4 pgs., there are different graphics/backgrounds. love this blank journal...
(one of the pgs. inside journal)

first doll of year. it's a golly doll!! steve says it looks like a voodoo doll and it creeps him out, BUT, there's a lot of history with this particular doll.
a golly doll is from a character created from a children's literature book in the 1880's. author was florence kate upton. this doll was mainly popular in north america, UK, and australia from early 1900 to 1960's.

the golly doll was first created after this book, circa 1885.

:)

first cap worn this year. "pine ridge cap" from anthropologie. lOve this cap :)

to be continued...
